Corporate Partner of the Year!

January 24, 2008 - Albany, NY – The Affordable Housing Partnership announced today that they have selected Kathleen Langton of HSBC Mortgage Corporation as their 2007 Corporate Partner of the Year. 

Kathleen has been instrumental in bringing significant levels of affordable housing resources to the Capital Region.  Through her efforts, the region benefits from the HSBC SHOP Capital mortgage program which offers below-market interest rates or a $3500 gift for closing costs for homebuyers and owners in the three cities of Albany, Schenectady or Troy.  Through her work, HSBC has also served as the conduit for $300,000 in funding for down payment assistance grants from the Federal Home Loan Bank of New York for first time buyers in the three cities.  As a board member, Kathleen has also contributed a significant amount of time providing support to the organization and operations of the Partnership’s counseling program.

“The Affordable Housing Partnership is very grateful to our wonderful partner for the resources she has attracted to the Capital Region to help make housing more affordable”, said Susan Cotner of the Affordable Housing Partnership.  “We greatly appreciate her hard work and commitment to our counseling and financial assistance programs.” 

The Partnership assists over 1000 low- and moderate-income families each year through counseling, education and financial assistance programs.  The homeownership programs offered by the Partnership strengthen neighborhoods and enhance the quality of life for all residents in our community.
