WORKING TO ADDRESS CLIMATE CHANGE:
AHP connected over 544 households to energy efficiency and home repair programs to make their homes more affordable and comfortable. AHP and five other partners comprise the Capital Region Clean Energy Hub to connect households to federal, state, and utility incentives to improve energy efficiency in their homes. The Hub also has a strong workforce development component to ensure all have access to clean energy jobs. 32 rooftop solar panels were installed for low income homeowners and 5 were installed on commercial buildings. 72 Albany homeowners were assisted with over $2.1 million in home repairs.
BUILDING STRONG NEIGHBORHOODS:
Through our partner the Albany Community Land Trust, 4 formerly vacant, blighting properties were renovated for sale. A tenant purchased her home and 3 more ACLT homes are under contract. 60 quality affordable rental units are being managed.
AHP worked in collaboration with the Sheridan Hollow Neighborhood Association to designate the Sheridan Hollow neighborhood as a NYS designated Brownfield Opportunity Area that will bring additional resources to the community. AHP is supporting the neighborhood as it completes an energy master plan, develops plans for the Sheridan hillside as well as redevelopment plans for a variety of vacant commercial and residential buildings.
